What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a personal trainer working in North Vancouver at a private studio. My clients are anyone interested in working on themselves and their body abilities.

Tell us about yourself

I started working as a trainer because I wanted to be able to help other people achieve the performance and physical results they want. My main motivation is to make my clients reach the best version of themselves.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is my client retention numbers. No one has chosen to move on to another fitness center or trainer since starting working with me.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Uncertainty. It is one of the hardest things to deal with. Ultimately, If you want to succeed, you have to believe in yourself and keep working on your business until you start to see results.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Choose your product well. The product dictates how your whole business is going to work. So taking the time to think well before starting can save you a lot of time in the future.
  2. Automatization. Try to automatize as many tasks as possible that are not your business's priority. This way you can save time to work on more important things and deliver a product with more quality.
  3. Be persistent. Sometimes things take longer than we expect in business, and that's often the case. Be persistent and keep putting your effort into it, and the results will follow.
