Inspire & Challenge People To Think Bigger - Coach Code

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with John Kitchens, Coach & Business Mentor of Coach Code, located in Edmond, OK, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a coaching organization for residential real estate agents that want the framework and tools to transform their lives and impact others.

Tell us about yourself

I am a business growth and leadership development coach for real estate agents that want to build a business. People come to us lost, confused, and insecure. They want to be coached because they want a better quality of life. They want things to be different; they want things to be better. They want more fulfillment and a better balance in their happiness buckets - health, wealth, and relationships.

Our company's goal is to help clients turn their real estate practice into a business which allows them to have an actionable plan to escape being a production agent and become the CEO and leader of their business. We provide the clarity and tools for our clients to build the confidence they need to achieve whatever it is you want to achieve in their life. In this way, our work together becomes a partnership that empowers them to reach new heights in all aspects of their life. Our purpose is to inspire and challenge people to think bigger so that they can transform their businesses and transform their lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is building a strong team, bringing in people, and making sure that they are achieving at their highest level. It is important that each member of our team believes in what we do and know what role they are going to play in achieving our goals. We believe in the WHO factor and let the WHO do the HOW. By relying on the WHO to execute and become accountable, each member of the team was able to focus on doing what the best in the world we are at.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is making sure that you're providing enough value and does your value solve a problem for the market. Money exchanges hands when a problem is solved, and as business owners, we need to be constantly evaluating and improving the value that we offer to the market.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Gain clarity on what your goals are. Having well-defined goals gives you a roadmap for decision-making. By being clear on where you are to where you want to be, you will stay focused on what is important and say 'no' to things that do not align you closer to your goals.
  2. Define what problem you are uniquely trying to solve. By identifying what your goals are comes your uniqueness - what is the problem that you are uniquely trying to solve? You are most qualified to serve the person you once were. This uniqueness comes from being able to define specific action steps that took you from where you once were to where you are at the moment.
  3. Provide, deliver, and capture value. Your delivery mechanism represents your accountability in fulfilling your promise and providing value. An efficient and reliable delivery mechanism establishes trust and credibility with clients, builds your reputation, and strengthens your position in the market.
