What's your business, and who are your customers?

Club Menopause helps menopausal women discover holistic solutions by sharing strategies for living a healthier life when the medical model has failed them.

We use the acronym C.A.R.E.S. to represent the five core pillars of Club Menopause:

  • Community: Members will benefit from relationships centered around connection, collaboration, and celebration.
  • Advocacy: Advocate on behalf of menopausal women to ensure they have a voice in Healthcare and Corporate America.
  • Resources: Robust online presence with healthy and holistic lifestyle offerings.
  • Education: We have top experts on a variety of topics.
  • Subscription Box: Products that are healthy, holistic, humorous, and taboo.

Tell us about yourself

I started a wellness clinic in the San Francisco Bay Area. After 20 years in private practice treating patients, I sold my practice in 2018. During my time in practice, I launched The W.O.W. Talks to address the many issues that women face with their healthcare decisions. W.O.W. (Women of Wellness) launched five successful conferences and eight chapters for women in the TED-talk format, with women speaking on topics ranging from A to Z, including advocacy, aging without meds, balancing a busy life, boomer brainpower, depression, feminine leadership, nutrition, and sex, are a few popular topics. The medical, alternative, and holistic viewpoints were shared equally. Simultaneously, I rose to the highest achievement in my profession as the 4th female President of the California Chiropractic Association. I served two terms as Madam President, where I had the incredible opportunity to influence healthcare legislation at the Capital in both Sacramento and Washington D.C. This ignited my purpose to advocate for menopausal women because I saw a need that wasn't being addressed, and I was positioned to do so.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Busting the taboo!!! This online community is designed to advocate for women going through peri-menopause, menopause, and post-menopause by providing connections and collaboration with other women. To power this mission, we align ourselves with like-minded brands that value our audience and are looking for compelling ways to tell their story. Specifically, we focus on creating integrated content, impactful social campaigns, enriching online events, influencer and ambassador activations, and research. Successful brand partners will be those who are excited about this mission and are looking for a customized, thoughtful approach to reaching a very discerning woman who is not just a wise woman with her social circles -- she's seeking advocacy and information to support her menopausal journey.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Technology is the hardest uphill battle as the never-ending online digital advances continue to evolve. For example, SEO and algorithms are always changing. Also, finding affordable skilled tech administrators who know their stuff is a guessing game.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Sequence: Be strategic in building your business foundation.
