What's your business, and who are your customers?

As a Business Strategist + Mentor, I support online business owners in cutting through the daily overwhelm of the business building by simplifying their focus with a strategic plan that compliments their life. Through a simplified business operations program, weekly live support membership, and private mentorship, my mission is to teach my clients efficient and cost-effective strategies to build their businesses and achieve their goals without sacrificing all of their time and income.

Tell us about yourself

After over 18 years of corporate project and marketing management experience, I transitioned to the online business space in late 2015, where I have been supporting online business owners with growth, strategy, and operations. The online business landscape changes almost daily with new social media platforms, technology, AI, algorithms, and advertising strategy. It can be incredibly overwhelming to even the most seasoned business owner or entrepreneur. The possibilities inside this constantly evolving space of change excite me every day as I look for better, faster, more efficient, and cutting-edge ways for my clients to accelerate their growth, save time and increase their revenue.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is how many people I've been able to impact in even the smallest ways. I love getting messages from clients and program students telling me how much they were able to accomplish by implementing recommended technology solutions or simple strategies to save time or lower overhead. Even more exciting is when I hear from clients who have doubled and tripled their confidence and revenue by adjusting how they structured their services, contract, and pricing.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing is really grasping that the buck stops with you and that you are the ultimate decision and revenue generator. There are a million ways to grow and manage a business and a ton of opinions to sift through as well. When you start a business, you are the driver creating a path to a bigger vision. You have the power to create that path however you see fit, but along with that power comes the ultimate responsibility for all risks involved.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start talking about it and growing a peer network long before you open your business.
  2. Manage your time and in the beginning, focus on the things that matter today. Don't worry about a year from now yet. Grow your foundation, your network, and your audience first.
  3. Tackle one thing at a time. It can feel like there are 1000 things to do in the beginning because there are. What you'll find out is that there will always be 1000 things to do, and you have to learn to prioritize and tackle them one at a time or in small chunks.
