Find Your Perfect Virtual Assistant - Cloversy

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business services but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Mel Carr, Founder and Owner of Cloversy LLC., located in Scottsdale, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Cloversy provides successful entrepreneurs assistance from virtually anywhere in the world. Our clients are successful entrepreneurs ready to scale their businesses by delegating their day-to-day tasks to our team of executive administrators.

Tell us about yourself

As a business owner, I know that our client's time is valuable. I am passionate about helping others succeed. This started with helping my clients free up their time by taking care of day-to-day tasks. As my own business grew, so did my fantastic team of female Executive Assistants. Cloversy has been in business for three years. With that, my passion has grown to continue to provide work to the wonderful team of women here at Cloversy.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

That's a great question! I'm so glad you asked me. My proudest moments as an entrepreneur come from all the ways my company has helped people be more successful in their own personal and professional lives by offering clients time back to grow businesses while also providing work opportunities for other fantastic females here at home (in America).

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the most difficult things that come with being a business owner is managing your time. You're constantly on call and dealing with everything at once, which can make it hard to get any work done efficiently or effectively enough for your liking! The key here lies in having good organization skills when juggling multiple tasks simultaneously, so they don't pile up too high before getting dealt with (or ignored) altogether, and delegation — but this takes practice.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Don't be afraid to take risks, especially if you're new at something. And remember that all business owners have moments when they feel like giving up, but those are normal short-term feelings - just keep going!

The top 3 tips I would give someone looking into starting their own company are:

  1. Do research on what it takes financially and emotionally before committing yourself fully - education is knowledge.
  2. Find someone who has done this already so as best can learn from them (in other words, ask lots of questions) - find mentors, business coaches, and network.
  3. Most importantly—have faith in your idea/product even though people might tell you otherwise sometimes.
