What's your business, and who are your customers?
Clean Energy is a Clean Label, certified organic, plant-based smoothie in a single-serve packet that changes the paradigm for on-the-go sports nutrition. Clean Energy contains only organic fruits and vegetables, no added sugar, and no lab-created ingredients. The result is a more bioavailable energy source in the short term and a more healthful energy source in the long term than the standard sports nutrition. Clean Energy is natural energy for the long run of life. Our customers are pro and collegiate athletic teams and fitness-conscious athletes who are interested in health for the long run of life.
Tell us about yourself
I am a CPA by trade and experience, having worked in public accounting for 16 years. I enjoy recreational athletics, running, and exercise. After reading about the health risks associated with added sugar and lab-created ingredients rampant in sports nutrition and, more broadly, packaged foods, I was looking for something different.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Making the decision to leave a stable, well-paying job to take a risk and try something that I have wanted to do for a long time.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The risk and uncertainty of being a business owner is a mental and emotional challenge.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Be diligent, truthful, and hopeful.
