What's your business, and who are your customers?
We're dog care providers. Our clients are busy working professionals, and what they get with our service is more time, more care, less guilt, and the type of dog that people will compliment, who's so well socialized they're ready for any of the client's adventures too.
Tell us about yourself
Although being in this business is nothing I could have ever imagined beforehand, it makes complete sense in retrospect, given my doggedness. What motivates me is teaching the dogs, the staff, and the clients.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The great, heartfelt compliments I get from staff members, especially on their way out, fill me with pride more than anything else.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Always being "on it."
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Seriously, consider not doing it. It's harder than you'd imagine.
- 'Be your own boss' is laughable. Every client and every staff member is your boss, just as much as you're theirs. Only you are more accountable.
