What's your business, and who are your customers?

We make natural skin care products using the power of herbs and science. Our products will help revive dull, dry skin, especially skin that has spent time outdoors.

Tell us about yourself

My background includes a Ph.D. in biochemistry and independent studies in herbalism. I knew medicinal herbs could help deliver skincare solutions, and I knew my chemistry background would help me formulate those products. I love working with herbs, and I love spending time outdoors.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Being a business owner in and of itself is a major accomplishment itself, especially getting past that five-year mark. But I am also proud that I have formulated some great cosmetic products for larger companies that are distributed worldwide.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, the hardest thing is staying organized. There are so many different things to do in any given day that distractions are easy. I have to really try to stay focused on the task at hand and finish one thing at a time.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be aware of your strengths and hire out what you are not good at. This is hard because most of us are control freaks.
  2. Continue to educate yourself on all aspects of your business and business in general.
  3. Be a leader. Be an expert in your field so that people look up to you.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Things don't happen overnight. Patience is important.
