The Link to Your Customers - Chuck Sink Link
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Chuck Sink, owner and CEO of Chuck Sink Link, located in Sunapee, NH, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Marketing Services Agency that creates brand strategies and executes marketing campaigns through websites, videos, and digital advertising. Customers are small business owners and Enterprise marketing directors.
Tell us about yourself
A 25-year career in sales revealed that I am a better creative director and executive than a salesman. After getting fired and having deep faith in God, I started my business while deep in debt and with children in college. The love of God motivates me daily, enabling me to do what I do and live the wonderful life I live today. The relationships my clients and I have developed are highly motivating and gratifying.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
In my third year, I successfully transitioned from being a freelance copywriter to a full-service marketing agency which more than doubled revenue and profits in the following 12 months, and the growth continues.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Worrying about losing customers through attrition and unforeseen circumstances, and never really being able to go dark, off the grid, get away for a couple of weeks. There are always some unfinished tasks and obligations.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Consider whom you currently work for and with. Are they good people, and do you like them?
- If not, think really hard about how valuable your skills are. If they are of high value to people around you, then find one of them and give that value in exchange for what he or she is willing to pay.
- Having started your business by doing so, find ways to leverage money and other people's skills so you can replicate the value and deliver it to more willing customers.
