Marketomic - Chris Morley
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Chris Morley, Founder of Marketomic LLC., located in Pagosa Springs, CO, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Marketomic is a full-stack integrated marketing and operations management firm that specializes in aligning business strategies to sales and revenue goals. We provide the tools necessary to increase the efficiency of small and medium businesses across B2B or B2C industries, accelerate growth, and lower customer acquisition costs, all while increasing customer retention. Our business-first approach to automation across an organization allows for higher ROI and lower implementation costs and delivers cross-functional satisfaction with popular business applications like Zoho One, Customer.io, Zapier, and Monday.com.
Tell us about yourself
I spent the majority of my career in small and medium businesses, including startups and several of my own companies in the tech sector. Nearly ten years ago, I decided to spend time in corporate America, where I had the privilege of using very expensive marketing and sales automation tools, ERP applications, and overall end-to-end business processes that are financially out of reach for many non-enterprise firms. In late 2020 I left that world after stints in AMD and Dell, determined to bring access to the results of using these tools but finding cost-effective methods of delivering those results. That has led me to focus on low-code and no-code applications as well as the extremely flexible world of Zoho products, with a specialty in complex integrations and customizations through Zoho Deluge scripting and extensive API work. Ultimately, we specialize in simplifying or automating redundant tasks and unique business flows, increasing visibility through actionable business information through clean and complete data and giving clients peace of mind and hours back in the day. Furthermore, we're a full-stack sales and marketing firm that provides creative services in sales enablement, digital marketing, and more. Regardless of its partner- or client-facing, we have the talent and tools to bring your product or service in a manner that drives revenue.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The unofficial second-year anniversary of Marketomic as a revenue-generating brand occurred last October. Nearly a 3rd of all small businesses fail within two years. We have been fortunate to engage in complex, consequential, and successful projects in healthcare, cannabis, reputation management, insurance, real estate, manufacturing, and more, as well as working with iconic brands like HP and MAINGEAR.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Scaling beyond the capabilities of the owner when you are the product or service. Finding the right people that can operate in our business-first engagement process; those who have a functional understanding of the client's goals through first-hand experience. It's one of our biggest differentiators but definitely requires the right talent.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Research your competition, get your tech stack in order (CRM, etc.), and make sure your website is filled with content that sells for you. Anything you do before billable hours start to overtake your daily schedule is absolutely critical. It's what we do and how we can help small firms. It's the most effective way to lay the foundation for success.
