Creating Elevated Experiences - Choices + Outcomes
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Anna Tansley, Founder of Choices + Outcomes, located in Wilmington, DE, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Choices + Outcomes is a global community created to serve as inspiration and fuel to live your most fulfilling life. I teach kundalini yoga + meditation workshops, host a daily meditation group, and do one-on-one sessions. These are all designed to access your personal power, clarify your vision, and generate energy to move in the direction of your desired outcome.
Tell us about yourself
I was living in NYC and experienced great success in my consulting career, but I felt like something was missing. I had known for a long time that I wanted to make a different impact on the world, but I never knew what that meant or how it would look. On a whim, I booked a trip to Morocco and found kundalini yoga + meditation. It was such a transformative experience that when I got back to the city, I dove deep into the practice and studied the teachings.
I started applying everything I learned to my job and personal and professional relationships. I started seeing major changes. When everything shut down during the pandemic and went virtual, I knew I needed to share the tools that helped me. Choices + Outcomes was born - a virtual space for people to find tools that work for them and a community to inspire them.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My ability to take something I love and turn it into something that helps people all around the world.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Get comfortable making mistakes, and don't let perfectionism keep you stagnant. Learn from the discomfort of both instances, make an adjustment, and keep going.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Mindset is everything: Remember that everything is either a challenge or a blessing. You will inevitably encounter challenges in your business. Train your mind to see the challenge as an opportunity to learn, grow, or pivot - the challenges then become blessings as well. This mindset will help you stay agile and keep up.
- Ask yourself this question: Are you a person that needs more pressure or more time? One of my teachers said this, and it always stuck with me. Know the difference. Create an environment that supports your success and work style.
- Start: If you have an idea or vision in your head - get it down on paper or record a voice note on your phone. Start breaking it down into action steps that you could start today - regardless of how big an idea or your perceived distance from it materializing. The only way you will be able to deliver on it is to start somewhere. You got this!
