What's your business, and who are your customers?

Chick-fil-A Lansing is an amazing fast food restaurant that serves wholesome, fresh food. We love to serve our community and donate to schools!

Tell us about yourself

I grew up in foodservice, starting at age ten, working with my mom. I continued to use my love for food service while in the US Air Force. I was able to create catered events, serve food and grow my love for hospitality.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My greatest accomplishment as a business owner has been my ability to help my community and team members. I love my community and team. Through creating fresh products, I'm able to employ around 90 employees, and I love getting to know all of them!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest and best thing about being an employer is people. I love people, but sometimes we have really crabby guests. At the same time, we have our favorite guests, and I LOVE serving our community and our team members.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Only do food service if it's something you have a passion for because it can be hard.
  2. Always give your best, because you'll never know how you helped someone else.
  3. You'll never regret being kind. Have boundaries, but be kind.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I love what I do. I love food service. I love the Lansing community. I'm honored to be a part of Lansing and serve those around me. I look forward to another 30 years!
