Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in financial services but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Chelcia Petersen, Founder of MAX (Monetary Asset X), located in Calgary, AB, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

MAX (Monetary Asset X) is a company focused on helping clients cultivate generational + collective wealth through financial literacy and Bitcoin education. Our main goal is to instill and inspire wealth creation for all. My courses and coaching are targeted toward people desiring to harness their true natural state of abundance, channel their economic and monetary energy, and are ready for the new monetary paradigm unraveling.

Tell us about yourself

Max, my son, is my "raison d'etre" (a French term for the reason of being). I have named my company after him because he is my strongest motivation, bringing the most purpose, meaning, and sheer joy to my life. My initial desire to cultivate generational wealth for him stems from the vision of the world I want to create for him and his future generations. Once I discovered our money was completely broken, I was initially very overwhelmed and concerned for his future. I saw my wealth degenerating, and I wanted to curate something for him, a legacy that would stand for the rest of time. With some divine guidance, I began diving head-first into my triggers and wounds, and the more I dove, the more light began to enter. That is truly where my journey of wealth creation began…

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is taking the leap! Feeling and leaning into the fear and discomfort and doing it anyways. It's challenging enough to start and launch a business in general but starting and launching a business in a space that is still so untapped and under-discovered can be very intimidating. I am most proud of standing in the conviction of my truth and committing to this beautiful new monetary paradigm unfolding.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner is embracing humility. You are going to fail (in areas), and you are going to make lots of mistakes. Once you accept those facts, it completely takes the pressure off. Lots of upward failures, and it's okay to make mistakes; the important thing is that you learn something. That is where the gifts lay. I attribute much of my growth and evolution of self and my business largely to my capacity to embrace the magic of learning in the process.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Jump off the cliff! The hardest part is starting, and the next hardest part is staying committed. Keep at it; you got this!
  2. Give the gifts: I am a firm believer that you get what you give; whatever value you are receiving will be a direct mirror of the value you are providing to the community.
  3. Trust that the right people + clients will find you at the right time as long as you are in alignment and integrity with your values/offerings/business/service.
