What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a private estate chef for high-profile clients and royalty. I also provide consulting to restauranteurs for menu development/new restaurant concepts and task force culinary operations for luxury hotels and resorts.
Tell us about yourself
I begin working at 7 years of age in my Dad's Mexican restaurant in my home state Florida. My mom would wake up extra early each day to hand roll all the flour tortillas for the day in the restaurant. Still today, her's are the absolute best I've eaten. I was the prep cook and waitress. I enjoyed, as a little girl seeing the customer's coming in daily to enjoy meals. I continued to follow my dad in his culinary career as he took me along to all the kitchens he was a chef at. I began my business in Miami, Florida, to create special menus for my client's special occasions. I am motivated by seeing my guests enjoy the one-of-a-kind dishes I create for them that are inspired by my travels.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Through my brand's success, I have been selected to travel and cook for many high-profile events and continue to gain more exposure through my brand's stellar reputation.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
It's an incredible amount of pressure as I am committed to maintaining my 100% client satisfaction. However, this is also the greatest reward.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
