Gourmet Chef at Your Table - Chef Hannah Noltemeyer
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food service but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Hannah Noltemeyer, a personal chef based in Decatur, GA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
Private chef specializing in intimate dinners for two and small dinner parties. I provide an upscale experience with dishes catered to your individual tastes using only the finest seafood, local vegetables, and fresh herbs.
Tell us about yourself
I come from a long line of wonderful cooks. My mother and grandmother are still my biggest inspirations and motivators. I get fulfillment and joy from browsing local farms and farmer's markets to derive inspiration for not only my clients' special dinners but my own as well.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is the smile and gratitude I receive from my clients, whether it's a one-off special dinner to celebrate an anniversary or my repeat clients I see monthly. I live for the “oohhhs and ahhhhs.”
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing about owning and operating a small business solely as one woman is finding and reaching new clients. Thankfully I get a lot of word-of-mouth reviews and recommendations.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Research heavily.
- Don’t be afraid to fail.
- Fake it til you make it.
