Fresh, Innovative, Personal - Chef B.
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food services but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brian Bailey, Founder of Chef B., LLC., located in Glendale, AZ, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a Private Chef presenting the culinary arts throughout the greater Phoenix area and Maricopa County. A Private Chef is someone who is a trained cook who prepares at-home meals for their clients for a fee. I'm usually employed by one family or one household.
I will customize a meal plan according to the client's dietary needs and preferences, shop for the items, prepare the meal, and also clean up the kitchen after they're done. I cater specialty events for local and out-of-town guests.
Tell us about yourself
I am a private chef with over 20 years of experience cooking in the Phoenix area. I offer a one-of-a-kind meal preparation service tailored to your tastes, including dietary preferences and allergies. I will come to your home and often prepare everything from scratch. I can also provide catering services for special events at your home or another venue in the Phoenix metro area.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I've always been fortunate enough to surround myself with the culinary arts. This began at an early age, supported greatly by my grandmother and parents. My earliest formal training was in Junior High Home Economics. I progressed through fast food establishments, food trucks, and now a vibrant Private Chef Business. It is an exciting business as you join in the celebrations experienced by many. This is balanced with the responsibilities found in support of funerals and wakes. Comfort and integrity are everything in this business.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment is becoming incorporated. I acquired a Dun & Bradstreet account where I am able to establish credit to generate more capital investments. It is also found in the growth of the organization in both staff and revenue. I often have more business than I can take on. It's exciting and frustrating at the same time.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Find a proven mentor in your industry.
- Maintain detailed Accounting.
- Be passionate and intentional in all that you do.
