What's your business, and who are your customers?
My company is a multi-purpose company offering in-home private cooking, classes, and catered events. I specialize in teaching international cuisine in both a fun and professional setting. My customers are both children and adults looking to advance their cooking skills at all levels.
Tell us about yourself
I am a former casino games dealer, and in 2014, I made the decision to compete in Master Chef, the tv show. Though I did not end up winning the show, I was able to validate my abilities as a chef and change in career. Nine years later, I am just as excited as I was the day I began. My passion continues to grow, and I am constantly inspired by my students and food.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment would be finding my path and niche in the Denver community as both a chef and an instructor. I hope to always continue learning and sharing my knowledge with the community as well.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Balance. When you love what you do, you never work a day of your life, so they say. However, the struggle to take a break or getaway becomes very secondary.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
I would advise them to find a field they truly feel love or passion towards. Anyone can start a business, but the only thing that will get you through the tough days is that love/passion.
