What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Chart Rich Academy, and my mentees are people that would like to learn more about how to invest in the financial markets. I teach the foreign exchange market and the stock market.
Tell us about yourself
I had another career until COVID happened. We were all briefly out of work. During that time, I had clients that really wanted to learn about investing. So I began to teach on a small scale, and that’s when I realized that I really loved to teach this. It also made me feel like I was helping people change their lives for the better. I know that everyone should have the opportunity to learn how to invest for themselves. Knowing that I can give them that is my motivation every day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I know that everyone should have the opportunity to learn how to invest for themselves. Knowing that I can give them that is my motivation every day.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is freedom. I have a choice of how I would like to run my day. I get to spend more time with my family and don’t miss important events with them anymore. It was the best decision I’ve ever made.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
My first tip would be don’t get too hung up on not having enough to start. As long as you have the basics and yourself, it’s enough. You will accumulate more tools and skills along the way.
Second, create a schedule for yourself as if you were working at a job. That way, you’ll be able to have a balance between work and home life.
Third, you will have weeks/months when you do absolutely phenomenal in sales. You will have times when you will not. Save for rainy days.
