What's your business, and who are your customers?
Chakra Chai® is a business built on heart-centered consciousness, offering customers a powerful vehicle through which they can nourish themselves with Ayurvedic products while simultaneously supporting seven different charitable causes. Our customers are human beings who understand the fragile interdependency between us and the natural world, aka: the conscious consumer. Our customers are the ones who utilize their capital power to make choices that support the regeneration of the earth and all its sentient beings.
Tell us about yourself
My son, Arta, graced me with his presence for only four little days. A year after his departure from this earth, I was deep in meditation when I heard his voice speak the phrase "Chakra Chai." The ensuing download was a blueprint gifted to myself and later to the spectacular human beings who comprise the core team of Chakra Chai®. Since our incorporation in 2019, we have undertaken every due diligence necessary to create a business model that is built upon love, integrity, accountability, transparency, and consciousness. What gets me up every morning is the reminder that the highest station we can achieve is that of service. We are in service to Chakra Chai® and all that it stands for, as long as we are deemed worthy of doing so.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Having the strength and the courage to continue to show up every single day and rededicate myself to the mission, vision, and service I've signed up for.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
It's the same hardest thing that comes with being a parent. It's putting someone else before yourself every single time. And the second hardest thing is watching the continued irresponsible deployment of capital into organizations and companies that harm and endanger not only our existence but the humanity at the heart of our very existence.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Be clear about your intention and the outcomes that you wish to create.
- Make sure you have a sufficient network, resources, and access to capital.
- Build a great team of individuals.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
When you're doing the right thing for the right reasons, you will inevitably be surrounded by the right people who will be there even in the darkest of times- whether they be your team, your friends, or your family, and often, all three become one. Hold them close, do not take them for granted, and know that together we stand, divided we fall.
