Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in content creation but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Tara Counterman, CEO and Founder of CEO PWR, located in Clay City, IN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

CEO PWR is a podcast production agency that works with entrepreneurs, coaches, and digital service providers to create a podcast that is a profitable part of their marketing strategy.

Tell us about yourself

Getting into podcasting was actually a total accident! After launching my own podcast for a network marketing business in 2018, I knew that I didn’t want just to have another interview show. As a mom of two, it was vital to be intentional with my time so that I could grow my business while still living my life & being present for my family. Eventually, I understood the need for this in the market and launched my done-for-you agency. I get so excited about the success we are able to help our clients achieve - because they are doing important work in this world. It is beyond motivating to be a part of it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been inventing a new type of sales funnel, The Podfunnel®, that uses the power of Podcasts to connect & convert ideal clients in just ten episodes! I really value innovation and am always looking for how we can make things easiest for our clients while having a big impact.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I think the hardest thing when it comes to being a business owner is knowing when to delegate and unplug. We get so focused on our missions and goals that we feel like we have to do it all right now.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just start. There is ALWAYS going to be a reason to wait; it’s better to figure it out as you go than to let yourself procrastinate.
  2. Your personality is your super PWR - don’t hide behind generic marketing and messaging. Be who you are, share what is in your heart, and don’t sugarcoat the things you know you need to say.
  3. You don’t have to do everything on your own. When you care to get support, it will allow you to go further fast in a way that is actually sustainable.
