From Clutter to Calm - Center Staged Home Design

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in home care but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rachel Reiff, Founder of Center Staged Home Design, located in Rome, GA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Center Staged Home Design is a home staging company based in Rome, GA. We specialize in creating warm, inviting, and on-trend spaces that instantly appeal to potential home buyers. And we do this all on your budget, primarily using pieces you already have!

Tell us about yourself

I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts from Berry College in 2016, double majoring in Visual Communications and Spanish.

I worked in the film industry for over a decade in front of and behind the camera. As a set decorator, I realized my love of interior design.

I began designing my own home as a hobby, and soon friends and family asked me for help with their homes. My passion and love for design grew, coupled with my interest in Real Estate, leading me to the world of home staging.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I feel proud that I’ve become more ingrained in the Rome community. We’re a proud small town and a fantastic place to be a small business owner. People have been so supportive, and it’s been a joy to meet new people and feel even more at home here.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things any small business owner faces is the feeling of "imposter syndrome." Many times I’ve asked myself if I can do this. But as I’ve dived deeper into my work, I’ve realized I’m qualified and have the passion necessary to make this a long-term business.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

In order of importance:

  1. Just start. Even if you’re not sure, you’re ready. Just begin.
  2. Seek out mentors and people that have gone before you. They will be a wealth of knowledge and a huge encouragement when you need them the most.
  3. Keep going. Keep training/learning needed skills. Keep pressing forward. You are doing it!
