What's your business, and who are your customers?

Our business is a family-owned and operated vineyard and winery in Kingman, Arizona. We are located off Historic Route 66 and halfway between Las Vegas and Flagstaff. Our customers are anyone who loves great wines! We make everything on site and currently have a 5-acre vineyard on site.

Tell us about yourself

After traveling the world as a petroleum engineer, I wanted to be able to be with my family. Our vineyard and winery are on site, and I am home all the time.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Even with the difficulties of the pandemic, we managed to increase sales as new business owners by developing a social media and marketing strategy.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Work-life balance. You often find yourself busy working on all aspects of the business, but it is important to remember to take time off or take a break to not be burnt out.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Starting social media and marketing as early as possible is very important for growth and keeping customers engaged.
  2. If you offer a product, determine the best way to distribute and ship it, so you are not locked into just local sales.
  3. Do not be afraid to ask for help. Many businesses fail, and in the current economic climate, it is more important than ever to seek advice and help when you need it.
