What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a leadership and performance coach, as well as an organizational effectiveness consultant. I work with organizations and leaders to execute strategies and develop the skills needed to do so. Therefore, my customers are leaders-at all levels.

Tell us about yourself

I am the daughter of a national youth development consultant, learning about the power of learning and knowledge at a young age. I was able to observe young people changing the trajectory of their lives when given knowledge, skills, and abilities. Driving knowledge with purpose and values, young people overcame all obstacles to craft the life they wanted. Each and every day, I am motivated to share and develop skills because I know it is a game changer for individuals, teams, and organizations.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Building a business that fully utilizes my skills, preferences, and passions. And being paid well for it!!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

I believe this is different for everyone. Some struggle with focus. Others, with discipline. For some, and this has been a struggle for me in the past, it is the initial isolation from a team, collaboration, and connection. I have also observed those trying to do everything, and this takes away from performing at their best version by not strategically utilizing strengths.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Plan. Engaging a board of directors in the planning.
Test. Social media is a great way to prototype.
Network. Connect with others! You will not only build a strong support system, but you will also continue to learn a d grow with and from others.
