What's your business, and who are your customers?

We specialize in brain mapping and neurofeedback. Our mission is for our clients to experience new hope and life transformation from anything holding them back. We typically work with mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, Traumatic brain injury, or ADHD, but we also specialize in peak performance for those who want to be at their best. We love getting the opportunity to teach people about their brains and understand the root cause of why they are experiencing the symptoms they are, and being able to change someone's life without medication is an incredible privilege.

Tell us about yourself

I originally got into the field right after my master's program because I did not want to do traditional talk therapy. I did not like feeling like I was only helping people manage their symptoms. I learned about neurofeedback and how it can help people identify the root of their symptoms and not only identify it but transform it, and I didn't look back. I went through a program myself while training for my new job, and the results were indescribable in terms of how it changed my life. I had dealt with severe anxiety that would send me to the emergency room, fearing I was dying, and that stopped happening. I was able to process the world from a place of excitement and less fear. I can show up every day for myself and my family with joy and excitement and can be truly present in my relationships. I'm motivated by seeing others experience this same life change and being able to feel in control of their own brains!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Our biggest accomplishment, I would say, is growth by experience and not by schooling. My business part and I both have a master's in counseling and have had to learn everything we know about business as we go. We have had amazing mentors along the way, and getting to the place we are running multiple offices and close to 500 sessions a week is still crazy to us. We get to impact so many lives daily, and we are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to do so.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the most challenging parts of being a business owner is the self-reflection, feedback, and growth required daily to be successful. When you are always trying to be 1% better and focused on the places you need to improve, it can feel like you are never doing enough or able to accomplish enough.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just do it. You are more capable than you think.
  2. In the amount of time you spend feeling like you can't do it, you could have already taken your first step.
  3. Find and build a community of mentors. You will learn from others, and that experience and input are invaluable

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Our lives are not intended to have more sorrow than joy or more anxiety and stress than balance. You are capable of achieving a flexible and efficient brain. You do not have to live on medication for the rest of your life if you do not want to. There is hope in any and all situations. There is support, and you are more capable of change than you know. Let someone help you, learn about new resources to tackle mental health challenges, be the best version of yourself as a business owner and never stop wanting to grow.
