What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Cardinal Clothing Co., A clothing brand inspired by the loss of a dear loved one. My main customers are friends and family or anyone who can relate to the story.
Tell us about yourself
I am Desmond Jennings, the creator and owner of Cardinal Clothing Co. I got started on this business back in the Summer of 2021. I received a call from an old friend who is now a medium. They asked me questions and had information I simply could not believe. They mentioned that I get signs, one of which is seeing a Cardinal. In many beliefs, Cardinals are messengers from loved ones who have passed. I took that as a sign and went for it.
What motivates me each day is just the simple fact I am doing this for my Father. Every day he is with me. This is something that will forever keep my dad in spirit.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment this far is Hitting the one-year anniversary mark this past October. On October 15th, 2022, I have officially been in business for one year!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing about being a business owner is keeping track of every expense. There is just so much to track, whether it be inventory/marketing/fees for services used, etc.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- GO FOR IT. The best time to start your business was yesterday. The next best time is now!

- Finally, do what YOU love and have fun. Enjoy the time spent working on it. It will all be worth it!
