What's your organization, and who are your members?
CAMMO’s mission and focus have been since inception to provide a safe and caring environment for military members, veterans, and their families to:
• Create music-based therapeutic programming and outlets for service members, veterans, and family members.
• Train and educate service members, veterans, and family members in music industry career opportunities, including artist development and management.
We perform for many clients, from television and corporate events to military hospitals.
Tell us about yourself
I'm committed to the concept of bringing the military community together to share in the love of music, performance, and audio technology, as well as the healing power of music and sound. Seeing veterans move forward in their lives. Knowing that we had some small part in making that happen.
What's your biggest accomplishment as an organization?
As a nonprofit, I may see things differently. An accomplishment is seeing a veteran come out of their shell and become who they were meant to be. Or watching one of the veteran groups place fifth on America's Got Talent or someone singing a solo that hasn't done this before.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being an organization?
The unknowns. The challenges and working through them, Always looking for funding.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow an organization today?
- Be organize.
- Be creative.
- Stay focused and provide a great service.
