To Where Banh Mi Truly Belongs - Camion Cafe

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Liz Huynh, co-founder of Camion Cafe, located in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Camion Cafe is a food truck where we offer Vancouverites the best taste of Vietnamese Bánh mì (sandwiches) & Cà phê (coffee) with affordable prices and deliver excellent grab-and-go service right on the street - where Banh Mi truly belongs.

Tell us about yourself

Camion Cafe is inspired by our love for Vietnamese Bánh mì and Cà phê, which have been indispensable foods for Vietnamese people over generations. Our team wants to serve this hearty combo to our communities here in Canada.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a new food vendor, we are happy to receive many positive feedbacks from our customers. Since our opening, we have seen our regular customers, whether at events, breweries, or our spot at the parks. Their support and love for our food and services is our biggest accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

In this food truck business, we need to work on many other aspects besides serving food. From finding nice spots to park the trailer joining events to mechanical issues (generator and car fixing...), it takes the management and operational teams a lot of cooperative effort to provide the best services to our customers.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be passionate about what you serve.
  2. The better you are as a team player, the more likely you are successful.
  3. Be a learner; you can always learn from your business partners, employees, and customers.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

We hope our story and experience will encourage other entrepreneurs to pursue their dream and make things happen.
