What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am a photographer and content creator, and I collaborate with lots of brands to help promote and showcase their products. I am also a photographer educator, and I have my online phone photography course as well as a recently published book called "The ultimate guide to iPhone photography" My customers are anyone and everyone who is looking to improve their Photography.
Tell us about yourself
I first got into Photography because I was looking for a creative outlet, later, I started shooting weddings, and one day, I realized that so many people don't know how to take proper photos. At that point, I decided to post tips and tricks to teach people how to do that. To my surprise, my tutorials started blowing up, and lots of people started following me. That's when I realized that I had something special to give. I love giving people the ability to take pictures they are proud of and to be able to see themselves through a new and beautiful lens.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
As of right now, I am very proud to have my first book published. This is a huge milestone for me.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
I find being disciplined and staying focused is the hardest part of running a business. In any business specifically, if it's new, there are a thousand things you can do, and knowing what to focus on can be very challenging.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Set realistic goals. Setting unrealistic goals can discourage you if you don't achieve them.
- Be consistent and focus on the process. Sometimes, you might feel like the results are not there yet, but if you have a solid process, just focus on that, and the results will come later.
- Start yesterday! It can feel very overwhelming when you are starting a business, and a lot of people get stuck wanting to make sure everything is perfect, which will never be the case. My advice to you is just to start and improve the process as you go.
