What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a small local shop in the heart of Villeray with a walk-up window that brings you to us from the number one park in Montreal, Jarry Park. Our coffee is roasted in Italy by the masters of coffee. The truth is that everyone loves something different about Cafevito.
Tell us about yourself
It all started with my father. I used to make coffee standing on milk crates at the age of 8 years old. In mile end, what used to be called Open Da Night is now Cafe Olimpico. I then suddenly became the manager and loved to be a barista. Now I have my own coffee shop where I focus on my customers' names and orders and serve them before they can walk in.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I was able to keep this place up for ten years now, and I was able to bring my girlfriend to work with me out of the corporate world, and most important that I was able to get a huge clientele.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Employees are hard to find and hard to keep.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make sure this is what you want.
- Do not look at your hours.
- There is no turning back, only forward.
