What's your business, and who are your customers?
C3 Industries is a vertically integrated provider of branded, premium cannabis products in Michigan, Massachusetts, Missouri, and Oregon. We provide consumers with products through our brands Cloud Cover Cannabis and Galactic Meds and retail through our High Profile Cannabis Shop dispensaries.
Tell us about yourself
I grew up around cannabis and have been a passionate consumer my entire adult life. Our team is motivated by a desire to produce high-quality products for our consumers and operate high-quality retail experiences. I love this industry and believe it combines my enthusiasm for business and entrepreneurship with a product that I know well.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Since launching in 2017, we have grown from the three co-founders to a team of over 500 people. Our operations now span across 24 retail locations and close to 300,000 square feet of production in operations or active development.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Scaling this rapidly is incredibly challenging, particularly in such a highly regulated and dynamic environment. The rules are different across markets and constantly changing, which adds a lot of complexity to the business and makes it harder to scale.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Hire a great team.
- Plan for the unexpected, and be resilient, and versatile.
- Learn from your mistakes and have thick skin.
