Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in training and development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Jeff Cohen, founder, and CEO of C-Level Roundtable, located in Glendale, CA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
C-Level Roundtable is a business coaching firm that leverages the patent-pending Count-On-Able process and method for having accountability work in an organization. Our clients are companies with 20 to 250 employees in the technology and health sectors. We help companies move from a culture where accountability is resisted to a culture where everyone knows what they are and are not Count-On-Able for.
Tell us about yourself
I'm an entrepreneur and have been my whole life. I've had tremendous success and extreme failure. I've been on ABC TV's Shark Tank. In 2013 I enrolled in a program called the Team Management and Leadership program, where I spent two years evaluating my life. I did not like what I found. One of my key findings was that I was a lousy boss.
In the program is engaged with 50 CEO's, Business Owners, and Entrepreneurs. As a group, we identified the key problems that businesses have and developed a simple and complete program that aligns everyone from the CEO to the individual employee to focus on the priorities of the CEO and enables trust to be a central focus for organizations. I've implemented the program with over 300 companies to date.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I've built and grown six companies. My greatest win was growing a software company from $0 and 0 people to $20M and 50 people in under three years.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Learning how to have a life and a business...I've been painfully burned by this and now know how to resolve this issue.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Startup with the motto - Free or better.
- Grow with the motto - Empower others.
- Run with the motto - I am not required to be present for my company to run and grow.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
I am publishing my book Count-On-Able on June 14th.
