What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Business Manager Chic LLC. I help female business owners shine through purposeful, intuitive business strategies by helping them take their businesses from overwhelmed to efficient. My goal is to empower them with the tools, systems, knowledge, and resources needed for their brand to be a success.
Also, through all-encompassing coaching services, I empower female entrepreneurs to feel seen and heard while providing a safe space for their emotions and weaknesses. With my actionable directive steps that help women profit, prosper, and confidently step into their role as CEO.
Tell us about yourself
As a working mother, I struggled with managing my career, home, family, and every other commitment I signed up for. When I had a major health scare, I realized that my health was suffering due to unhappiness which was the result of unclear career expectations and a lack of work-life balance. I realized that I was also in the management and development role in all my professional career to make others money.
Once I was able to overcome some fears about stepping out and running my business full-time and not as a side hustle any further, I wanted to help other women to take that leap with a strong support system behind them. So, I took my experience running my own businesses and decided to help other women dominate their businesses and industries. My family motivates me every day because they have sacrificed a lot for me to do what I love every day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The biggest success I have achieved thus far is being known as someone who is known for uplifting women to help them pursue their dreams and purpose. As a business manager, coach, strategist, and speaker, I have relied on my faith to help guide me through working with my clients. I get great joy from watching them evolve into their CEO shoes and reach their goals.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
My top challenge has been the implementation of a new marketing strategy. My initial business model has been to be a business manager and coach; however, I added to that model to pursue consulting and speaking. This became a challenge because I was uncertain about how to reach a new audience and if I was ready to take on this new model I wanted to put in place. I didn’t know how to market myself to a wider audience but using my own tools and the resources I give my clients; I was able to overcome my challenges. I brought on a team to assist me with marketing, social media, and administrative areas.
The other hardest thing about being a business owner is remembering to set boundaries for myself so that I don’t become overworked and am able to be fully PRESENT in my business and for my family. I have been able to do this by mapping out my schedule to give that work-life balance I was missing in the corporate world.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- I would encourage anyone looking to start a business to first know your customer or client base.
- I encourage start-up entrepreneurs to have support from a team.
- To map out your business goals so that you are succeeding in the long term.
