What's your business, and who are your customers?
I help to start entrepreneurs by offering business plan consulting services.
Tell us about yourself
As an entrepreneur, coach, and speaker, I lecture at international forums in Canada and Africa on the startup ecosystem and emerging technologies such as blockchain. I set up an acceleration entrepreneurship program for young people at Groupe3737, which was awarded by the city of Montreal and supported by the Quebec Ministry of Economy, Science and Innovation of the Quebec government (M.E.S.I). Before immigrating to Canada in 2005, I worked in my homeland country Haiti as a banker and at an internet company as a Senior Accountant. After moving to Canada, I started my business consulting firm Bruner Canada. I was nominated twice as Entrepreneur of the Year, in 2008 by SOCLE and in 2010 by RJCCQ. In addition to being an entrepreneur, mentor, and professor, I recently founded a financial technology (Fintech) firm with my partner Netdollar.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
In 2019, I was nominated as a Top 75 RBC immigrant by a Canadian magazine. In 2008, I received a public award as an entrepreneur from the Minister of Employment and Solidarity, Sam Hamad, through the Société Lavalloise Communautaire d'Emprunt (SOCLE) and the Quebec Community Credit Network (RQCC). I have served on several boards, including Zap. coop (Montreal-wifi), the selection committee of the Young Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce, and the Junior Chamber of Commerce of Haiti (JCCH).
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Balancing financial and personal life was a big challenge.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

- Be well surrounded by peers, coaches, and mentors.
- Be organized, well-dedicated, and perseverant.
