Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Chrystina Casado, founder of Brunch At Zion's, located in Bronx, NY, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business was born through my love of family and cooking. Cooking has always been an integral part of my growing up. It is my love language. Coming from a multi-ethnic family, I've learned to weave into every single one of my recipes the love for family, culture, and My Greatest Inspiration, Zion, my son. And, that's how Brunch at Zion's went from a dream to reality.

Tell us about yourself

The turbulent times that we are living in drove me to risk it all. I left the comfort of corporate America and decided that a healthy lifestyle of raising my son and creating amazing food was something I could share with everyone I loved and Beyond.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is creating an experience for my customers to indulge and enjoy the flavors of my culture and history, and it fills me with pride.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Learning to say no and accepting my worth.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Just do it no matter what. Take all of the necessary steps to improve on marketing every single day. Surround yourself with inspiration.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I would like to see more black and brown women take the plunge and make connections with people that are not in your circle that you might be discounting. Take a leap and expect the unexpected. You are worth it!
