What's your business, and who are your customers?

I’m an author of the 7-book series ‘BE DiFFERENT or be dead’ with my latest ‘The Audacious Unheard-of Ways I Took a Startup to A BILLION IN SALES’ released May 31, 2022. My ‘business’ is to share my work—the practical things I did to achieve a billion in sales—with business leaders as well as individuals looking for growth and success.

Tell us about yourself

I am the ONLY author, entrepreneur, and executive leader who delivers practical and proven ‘Audacious Unheard-of Ways’ to produce high-performing businesses and successful careers.

I am a former president, CMO, and entrepreneur with over 40 years of successful and unmatched executive leadership experience in every aspect of the business. As President of a major data and internet company, my leadership and audacious ‘unheard-of ways’ took the company from its early stage to $1 Billion in annual sales.

I am a blogger, content marketer, and mentor to young professionals.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I grew an early stage business to a billion in annual sales.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Execution of your strategy, and I’ve developed and successfully implemented a unique—different— approach to doing it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Build a STRATEGIC GAME PLAN—SGP—focused on execution. How big? Who to serve? How to compete and win?
  2. BE DiFFERENT. Create your ONLY STATEMENT as your strategy to compete and win.
  3. FOCUS. FOCUS. FOCUS. On the critical few things necessary to execute your strategy. Avoid chasing YUMMY 😋.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I’m different than other guests. My work is based on what I’ve ACHIEVED as opposed to common textbook approaches to leadership and growth. I’m an audacious leader who ‘lights fires’ in people to support common goals. I talk about my programs such as Kill Dumb Rules, Cut the CRAP, The ONLY Statement for personal and business differentiation, hiring for goosebumps, Line of Sight Leadership, Leadership by Serving Around, and more.
