Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in arts & crafts but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brian Dunn, Owner of Brians Art of Creation, located in Newark, DE, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I teach people the power of creativity using clay therapy.
Tell us about yourself
I started collecting masks and action figures and wanted to create my own characters and monsters. As I have grown, I have shifted to sharing what creativity has done for me and telling stories through my art.
This is also what I have done with my little heroes, sharing the stories of exceptional children with disabilities who are fighting deadly conditions.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Developing something that I love and watching the growth and shifts over time.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Taking accountability for myself and planning the direction to take.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Always be learning and developing a growth mindset.
- Focus on why you are doing this first.
- Develop habits and disciplines that work for you.
