Brianca Johnson & Company is a marketing consulting and coaching company. We provide simple strategies to make marketing easy and sales consistent for online business owners and nonprofit leaders.

Tell us about yourself

I am a Marketing Strategist and author of It Ain’t Rocket Science, Friend! How to Position Your Expertise, Build an Authentic Personal Brand, and Plan a Profitable Launch in 90 Days. In 2020, I quit my job as Digital Director for a national nonprofit to go full-time in my business, where I helped over 500 students and clients execute simple marketing strategies to grow their business without more time and overwhelm. I also work as a consultant in other businesses to develop marketing strategies and institutionalize marketing teams and systems for nonprofits and mid-sized businesses. The cornerstone of my unmatched passion is to help CEOs confidently sell their expertise so they can make more money and ultimately live better lives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment has been helping my clients land five figures during their first-time launches. It still is such an exciting feeling knowing that I am helping my clients make more money and ultimately change their lives.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come along with being a business owner has been the balance between serving my clients and ensuring that I’m also doing all of the things to properly position and promote my own business. It’s also been challenging to establish and adhere to personal boundaries that prevent burnout and promote a healthy work/life balance because, as the CEO, you feel so connected to your work and clients.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Invest in your marketing strategy and systems before you invest in pretty content.
  2. Document everything. It’ll make duplicating your results easier and more tangible.
  3. Find a community of people you can talk to, strategize with, and have fun with. Entrepreneurship can feel isolating, but it doesn’t have to be.
