What's your business, and who are your customers?

I have been a professional life and business coach for twenty-three years. I feel blessed every day that I get to live my passions and help others to find success, happiness, and purpose. My focus is helping others to discover their passions so they can live a life of purpose that fulfills them each day. My ideal clients are entrepreneurs and high-performing executives who are overwhelmed or stressed out and seeking a way to find balance. They are stuck in their current situation, or they lack the confidence to let go of problems of the past and pursue their dreams.

Tell us about yourself

I have always had a curiosity and desire to understand and master communication and human behavior. I have always enjoyed working with others and finding strategies to improve our performance and results. I have been doing this since I began working and applied it to every career I experienced, from running restaurants to developing sales teams to owning my own photography company. I wake up inspired every day, looking for opportunities to learn and make progress. I know that when we challenge ourselves in a healthy way, we are at our best, and we build momentum for our future.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Sustainability. Most life coaches, business coaches, and therapists or consultants leave the business in just a few years. And many struggle for a lot of their career. I am grateful that I have seen consistent growth and success over my two decades as a coach, and I attribute this to my desire to keep learning and always make sure I am providing clear value to my clients. I have also helped hundreds of individuals to find purpose in life and regain the desire to live. Nothing beats helping someone find hope again!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The most challenging part of being a business owner is managing all the tasks you need to do in order to stay ahead of the game, from marketing to education to clients' results. It's also challenging to find the right talent to work with you so you can delegate tasks. I am lucky to have an amazing team now, but it's taken me over a decade of trial and error to get here.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Discover your passion first. Get clear on why you want to do what you are doing. Really understand the specific actions that excite you and build your business around what inspires you.
  2. Develop a clear plan. I suggest reversing engineering a master plan for the next 1 - 3 years. Get clear on how much profit you need to make to live the life you want, and then break down all the resources and goals you need to accomplish to get there. Remember, success is not a job; it's a lifestyle. You need to look at all areas of life when you are making your plan and understand how they will support and impact each other.
  3. Get disciplined. Discipline is the real key to success. It doesn't matter how great you are or how amazing your idea, product, or service is if you don't follow through and know how to duplicate your results. Develop a daily routine that helps you stay at your peak performance. We all know many of the things we should be doing daily but don't. When you have accountability and you track your progress, it's amazing how much better you will do!
