What's your business, and who are your customers?

Breckenridge Coffee Roasters roast high-quality coffee while remaining socially and environmentally sustainable to respect every member of the coffee community and take care of the mountains and our planet.

Tell us about yourself

I first started out by purchasing a cafe; I then realized I wanted and could do more. That's when I decided to start roasting coffee. It started out small in the back of my cafe; then, over the years, it has grown into a large wholesale business. My biggest motivator is coffee!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Expanding my business from a back room in a cafe to a large roasting facility and providing more opportunities for sustainable growth.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Having my business in a resort mountain town makes staffing difficult. While our population increases in our peak season, it's hard to find people that stay year after year.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Knowing your market, planning for the future, not only the present, and being willing to adapt to the ever-changing world.
