Tell us about yourself

Aside from being the founder & Chief Burnout Officer of The Breakfast Leadership Network, I am also a keynote speaker, host of the Breakfast Leadership show, a Certified NLP and CBT Therapist, a Fortune 500 consultant, and author of my latest book, BURNOUT PROOF. I'm a Top 20 Global Thought Leader on HR & Culture, Top 50 Thought leader on Management with Thinkers360. and a former Healthcare executive overseeing $2 Billion budgets.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Taking a personal experience with burnout and losing everything, including almost losing my life, and creating a consulting media firm to educate the masses on burnout prevention is one of the proudest moments in my career.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Narrowing down and listening to the right advice. There's no shortage of business coaches and consultants out there, but you need to narrow your focus to where you are and where you want to go next.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Establish boundaries when you work and when you are off the clock, and stick to that rule!
  2. Schedule fun things to do, even when you're tempted to work more.
  3. Frequently check in with yourself, and ask if you're still having fun doing this.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Building a business will take longer than you think. Micro steps still step forward.
