Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in photography but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Brandon Lewis, owner of Peaceful Visions Photography, LLC., located in Bishopville, SC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a portrait photographer, and my customers are those who love the craft that I’ve given my heart to.

Tell us about yourself

Well, I started this journey just wanting to help a clothing line that I supported cut some costs. After doing that for a while, I met a friend who would become my wife and who pushed me in the direction of making a career out of it. She literally believed in me to do this before I did. So here I am, giving it the best I can.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is not giving up when a lot of the situations placed in front of me tell me to.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing that comes with this business is me being an artist in general. Not many cares about it the way that I do, so they sell it short as just clicking a button, then boom, your photos are ready. There’s a lot more to it than that.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Go for it and give it everything you have.
  2. Never let people with a negative spirit get into your head.
  3. Your dreams are worth going for, so again, just go for them.
