Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Stacy Braiuca, Owner of Braiuca Enterprises, LLC, located in Kansas City, MO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My name is Stacy Braiuca, affectionately known as The Technology Therapist™ & Squirrel Wrangler. One thing I know after 25 years as a therapist is humans want to change but don't know how or don't want to do the work to change. Change is a "constant" yet vital to life. As a geek in a non-geek profession (social work and public health), I observed the stress and limitations in productivity technology fear caused my co-workers. This led me to combine my two loves into one arena to solve their fear from a "geek" and a therapist's combined perspective. I have spent my career guiding others through the change process & I am on a mission to spread tenacity and life balance in this world.

Now, entrepreneurs and thought leaders hire me to develop sustained passion and purpose because most are not fully using the tools, resources, and systems they already have, they can't keep up with everything, and they are not investing enough in themselves. So I join with them to co-create new paradigms, plans, and processes, to be more efficient, and healthy, and reap the rewards of their lives. Bottom line... without the right formula, you can't sustain all of the things you love (and you've gotta #automate2liberate with a Technology Therapist™).

Tell us about yourself

I started helping others with technology at a young age (my first computer was a Commodore 64). I was set to be a computer programmer when life took a different turn for me as I became a Clinical Social Worker (therapist) and Public Health Professional. Flash forward, watching my grandfather deal with several co-occurring medical issues leading him down the road to depression by being stuck at home. I knew helping him use technology to socialize was something I could do. That led me to love using my therapy skills and tech skills together. This has now developed into my Find Your Formula Coaching program, which aims to guide individuals to develop sustained passion, purpose, and most of all, overall wellness by using technology and productivity hacks, along with behavior change in 9 areas of their lives. I am passionate about the formula and program because as I developed it, I have watched it transform clients' lives in multiple roles I have worked in, from being an adjunct instructor in two graduate school programs to community adult education to presenting it in entrepreneurial summits, and conferences. I have used it to work with clients in both my therapy role and my entrepreneurial clients. For me, it is a joy to see people relieve stress by using technology to increase their productivity while also increasing their time available to spend with their lives and loved ones.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have stayed the course. I have allowed myself to change and grow and have faced challenges instead of running from them. They have been scary (some of them), but they have come with amazing growth. Especially learning about yourself and learning who you really are as a person, how confident you CAN be in yourself, and how many amazing things you can bring to the world if you really want to do it. You really can do ANYTHING you want. Coaching is probably the BIGGEST and best investment I have done for both myself and my business. I have had some amazing coaches: Jane M. Powers, Jay Fiset, Cat & Barry Cohen, Jannette Anderson, and Coach Jennie (yeah, I have a thing for J's), just to name a few! Make sure you have a coach or 10.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Dealing with "losing money" in different ways and dealing with making mistakes. You are going to do both, but you are also going to GROW into this amazing human you may not even expect you are going to be at the beginning.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Review options for the technology needed by thinking about what you might need in the next 3-5 years, instead of immediate, so you don't have to change systems later #askmehowIknow.
  2. Be ready to make mistakes because you will, you need to, and you will learn from them (some will cost money).
  3. Be ready to CHANGE, over and over again, because you will, and yes, it's scary, but it is amazing too.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

My business' "secret mission" is to coach others to use technology to increase their productivity so they have more time for self-care, health, mental health, and a better work-life balance. This is to promote the building of human relationships and positivity in society. My other mission is to be large enough to donate consistently 10% of my business profit to American Indian Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking organizations to give back to my own community.
