Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in fashion but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Terry Ann Campbell, Owner of Boutique Fashionistah LLC., located in Atlanta, GA, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
I run an online women's boutique where we aspire to cater to all sizes, shapes, and shades of women. My customers are modern women who like to wear what they want when they want. They are confident and hardworking but also like to go out and have fun when time allows.
Tell us about yourself
I was motivated to start this business because I found myself constantly searching for comfortable clothes that fit and was affordable but classy. My weight fluctuates, and I wanted to speak to those women like myself and tell them it was OK; they are not alone.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
The independence to make my own decisions and choose my own team.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Start-up expenses, especially as a first-generation Black immigrant.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Believe in yourself.
- Don't be afraid to ask for help but be prepared to lead and delegate.
- Reach out to people who inspire you.
