Virtual holistic care for digestive, autoimmune, and complex medical conditions.
Tell us about yourself
I am a Naturopathic Doctor, author, mentor, and international keynote speaker. I focus on helping people with autoimmune, digestive, and complex conditions recover their health through creative, integrative treatment approaches. I'm now offering online group programs in addition to 1:1 patient care. I am passionate about teaching and am committed to continual learning and growing in my profession. I am the Medical Director of Bothell Natural Health and the Founder of the nonprofit organization - Inside Health Institute. My free time is dedicated to fun, love, family, friends, laughter, travel, music, and a deep love of nature.
I originally got into the caregiving field as a care provider for adults and children with disabilities (for about 15 years previous to my career change) and also after having my own life-changing experience working with a Naturopathic Doctor when I was a sick 7-year-old. My years of passion while being in service and being aware of an alternative medical profession set me up for success as a compassionate, caring, and holistic alternative medical provider. I love my job, and it is a perfect fit for me and my skill sets.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being a specialist in my field for almost 20 years.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Taxes, employees, wages.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Have a business plan with clearly defined roles, responsibilities, policies, and procedures in place before you start your business, as you may never have time to create these things again once you are a busy business owner.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Don't hire rock bottom-priced attorneys and accountants; you will get what you pay for. Also, always read contracts in great detail and, when pertinent, have a lawyer review them. Do not ever sign anything without a very critical review of what you are signing.
