What's your business, and who are your customers?

Medical Spa - Cosmetic injecting and medical aesthetic services focused on anti-aging and skin rejuvenation. Muscle relaxing treatments, dermal fillers, micro-needling, skin tightening, chemical peels, and medical-grade skincare. In addition, I offer some services in women's health, focusing on incontinence and vaginal health.

Tell us about yourself

I've been a Nurse Practitioner for over 9 years. I began practicing in the medical aesthetics industry approximately 4 years ago after being encouraged to enter the field by colleagues. Once I took the accreditation courses and did some intense mentoring with colleagues, it quickly became obvious this was one of my professional callings.

I love helping men and women feel confident in their own skin. Focused on delivering exceptional natural results by approaching aging with a step-wise approach. Helping people achieve their goals in their skin texture, feel, and overall look is incredible. That is what drives me to continue to do this daily.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helping hundreds of men and women. Seeing my practice grow exponentially in 4 years has been truly incredible. The fact that so many people have trusted me as their clinician providing medical aesthetic treatments is so incredible. My business is essentially referral-based, and I am truly blessed to have such incredible clients.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Learning balance. You can literally work ALL the time. This is still a work in progress. Knowing when to hire people to be part of the team to help alleviate some stressors has been huge. For instance, I have never been versed in managing social media. Hiring a social media manager has been nothing short of incredible. This has afforded me more time to spend with clients or other clinical duties.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Always be authentic. Authenticity builds trust.
  2. Invest in yourself. You'll have moments where you feel scared to take the leap, but do it, believe in yourself.
  3. Offer something nobody else is offering. This may be a service, or it may be the way in which you provide a service. Be unique and stand out!
