What's your business, and who are your customers?
I run a small business that designs and makes custom charcuterie trays, gift boxes, grazing tables, and charcuterie cups. We design charcuterie displays for all types of occasions, including weddings, birthday parties, holidays, baby showers, and so much more.
Tell us about yourself
I have always loved bringing the meat and veggie tray to our friends and family's events, and many people always made the comment that I should start a business with the same concept. After getting engaged in 2020, I decided to start this business to help with wedding expenses. It turned into a full-time job and a passion of mine. I love receiving feedback from my customers on how much they enjoy my products, and that keeps me going each day.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I feel like my biggest accomplishment as a business owner is creating a business in my small town that no one realized they needed until it was there. I love creating a piece of art that also tastes delicious.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is honestly how much work it actually takes to be a business owner. It takes long days and nights, a strong will and perseverance, and time to really find your niche.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Do your research. Do not try to re-invent the wheel. Use inspiration from others that you see have been successful and try to make it your own. Ask for advice from other business owners too!
