What's your business, and who are your customers?
I am an acupuncturist and Chinese Medicine Doctor. I also practice NAET, which stands for Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique. Acupuncture is a holistic way to balance our bodies and keep them healthy. Acupuncture works for so many issues such as digestive problems, infertility, anxiety, depression, and chronic pain, just to name a few. NAET is a holistic way to get rid of allergies, and I treat all sorts of allergies, from dairy to animals, seasonal and environmental!! It's an amazing modality that uses muscle testing, vials that contain the allergen, and acupressure on the spine to release that allergen and clear the energetic blockages.
Tell us about yourself
I am passionate about acupuncture because I believe in helping people heal in a holistic way. Our bodies are so complex, and watching people heal and eliminate allergies without the use of drugs or any invasive technique is so rewarding!! To have a child say that they can now eat pizza without getting a tummy ache because of the cheese makes me smile!! Helping a couple with acupuncture that hadn't had success in conceiving and then meeting their newborn makes me smile!! I love what I do. It's an honor to help others.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Stepping out of my comfort zone and leaving a secure job was a risk worth taking for me.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
For me, it's marketing. I need to work on developing skills on how to market and get the word out there, especially for NAET, as it's not well known and hard to explain until you experience it.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make sure it's your passion - you can overcome anything if you love what you do!
- Know how to market, take a course, etc.
- Learn to network with others in your field; it can be isolating otherwise.
