What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a self-protection and movement lifestyle training community that teaches Fusion Jiu-jitsu to adults 16 and up and kids ages 5 to 15.

Tell us about yourself

Working as an executive and close protection professional, I saw that I could add more value to the world if I taught others how to stay out of harm's way and protect themselves, their families, and their way of life. I am motivated every day by witnessing our students (of all ages) growing, becoming more confident, courageous, and strong, and stepping into their greatness.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Running affiliate locations around the world and staying in business for 25 years so far.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Accountability and responsibility in all areas of business and life. The buck stops with me in every element of business. Knowing this, one must take personal inventory when it comes to physical, emotional, and spiritual energy management.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start part-time - decide if you like working in and on the business for 10-16 hours per day.
  2. Do not shore up your weaknesses - Find out where your weak spots are and try to hire someone to help you.
  3. Keep going, and don't give up.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Make sure you love what you do and are passionate about how you want to help people and add value to the world. Don't do it for the money only!
