What's your business, and who are your customers?

Bibi Beverages is a line of detox and recovery shots for conscious health drinkers, festival-goers, and happy hour enthusiasts :)

Tell us about yourself

I've never been able to drink alcohol without my face and body turning bright red and feeling sick to my stomach. I suffered from what's called "Asian glow." So my 20's weren't much fun; no parties, no tailgates, even dating was awkward. So I dedicated my 30s to developing a line of detox drinks that help the over 1 billion people who suffer from the same problem. I launched my first product in 2016. It has since grown into an entire line of detox and recovery drinks to help people from all backgrounds look and feel healthy before, during, and after any drinking occasion.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Without funding or CPG experience, I single-handedly grew Bibi into a six-figure business with national distribution. Now Bibi is on its way to becoming a multi-million dollar company, and to date, I've raised less than $200,000.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Everything, the successes and failures, and financial stressors, they all fall on you. It's a lot of pressure and responsibility.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Expect to hear many "No's" and don't let that deter you. My biggest account said "No" to me for 1.5 years!
  2. Be your biggest champion because if you aren't, how can you expect anyone else to be?
  3. Surround yourself with good help and people who can open doors for you and return the favor.
