12 Drinks, One Hand, Zero Mess - Bevee

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Natalie Boyatt, founder and CEO of Bevee, located in Memphis, TN, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Bevee made its debut in June of 2022 as the only patented, reusable drink carrier that holds up to 12 drinks in one hand with no spills. It features 2 US patents, contouring, and secure silicone inserts, molded and durable hard-shell plastic case, a comfortable grip single-handle, a locking mechanism, folds for easy and compact storage, and is reusable with no waste or flimsy cardboard carriers. Our customers range from individuals needing a free hand thanks to their job, multiple children, those who entertain a lot, and businesses in the hospitality, beverage, tailgating, sporting/arena, pharmaceutical, airline, and automotive industries. Everyone needs a Bevee -it is the product you don't know you need until you need it!

Tell us about yourself

Seven years ago, as a single mom, I needed to work to live, so I took a job in the pharmaceutical industry. Two months into the job, a 10-drink order from one of my offices for Starbucks changed my life. Struggling with two cardboard drink carriers full of drinks, I wanted a better solution. When I couldn't find one, I created one. I spent the first six years perfecting the design with a lot of sweat equity, and finally, in 2021, I decided to take the leap: I fired my job, built a team, found a manufacturer, and took in investment dollars, and Bevee was born! I'm motivated every day because I know I have found my gift of solving problems by creating products. I love it, and in the past two years, I discovered six more products I want to create! It is the hardest thing I've ever done, but I've finally found the thing I couldn't imagine not doing with my life.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Seeing my product arrive in its fully finished state, packaging, and all ready to go out into the world. It is surreal to remember the day I walked out of that office seven years ago with almost the exact image in my head of what all these years of hard work and persistence finally produced in real life.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Realizing that at the end of the day, no one is going to work as hard as you on your business. And while you don't need to be an expert at everything, you need to know enough so that if you have to do it yourself, you can.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just start and if you don't know where to start, make a list of the top 10 things you would love to do 24/7. Then figure out if you can make money at any of them and just begin. I had no idea what I was doing, and from day one, my mantra was, "if it's meant to be, let the doors open."
  2. Ask for help as much as you humanly can. The Universe wants to help you and see you succeed!
  3. You're going to go down A LOT of dirt roads, A LOT. But trust me, they are there to help you get back on the highway!
